The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas Week #11

Here is my week #11 tag! I'm up to date now! Linda's tag had snowflakes on her tag and I'm a sucker for snowflakes on holiday cards, tags and gifts.

This tag already had some blue acrylic ink on it so I just added my new favorite paint, Folk Art Extreme Glitter paint. You have to try it.  You can put it on think for that ultimate sparkle or a thin layer, like this tag, for just enough sparkle.

Here is a close up of the sparkle. I hope you can see.

It comes in many colors and so much fun to use. I also added some more paint with dabbers in pearl and silver.  The snowflakes down the side is a ribbon. The large snowflake is actually an ornament that comes in a pack of 8 from Michaels. Also from Michaels Recollection designs are the small snowflakes and dots.  The "25" is grungeboard.

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas Week #10

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I spent it in Chicago visiting my daughter. I have a few photos to show you from my trip.  You will be seeing them soon in future posts.

Today's tag is for The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas. I actually have #10 and #11 done but I will be putting them in separate posts.

Linda used a poinsettia embossing folder on her tag so the poinsettia is my inspiration for my tag.

The poinsettia is a stamp from Me and CarrieLou. I stamped it twice; once for the flower and the other for the leaves. The background is made from a  Tim Holtz texture fade and distress inks in aged mohogany and fired brick. The vintage Santa image is from Graphic 45's Christmas Past paper pack.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Life Well Spent

I was digging through my stash of scrap paper and found this flower and hummingbird already stamped and colored in.  I was playing with colors on this little 4" x 4" stretched canvas and thought it would be a perfect match.  Believe the flower is a stamp from Stampin Up (Fifth Avenue Floral) but the bird I'm not sure. I'm trying to look for it but I might have borrowed it from someone and returned it.

Snow! Let it Snow!

First let me say I don't like snow. It is beautiful and I will be the first one in the neighborhood to go out and take pictures before everyone starts shoveling but that's it. I hoping for a no snow winter this year. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed! Sorry for all those who love it.

The background is made from distress inks and snowflake stamps from Stampin Up.
The cat and snowflakes are grungeboard. The little bulbs on his tail I have had for a long time. They have a little loop on each end so I was able to string them to his tail.

Oh Christmas Tree!

Today I have another card with no stamped images. I made the card from my basket of scraps but I think this paper might be Memory Box but I could be wrong.

I seem to be in the Christmas spirit a little early which is really strange for me. Each year I try to start my cards earlier but I play so much with different options that I end up with too many designs that I like or dislike that I end up making them last minute. That's the only holiday stuff that I touch at this time of year.  Shopping (I only buy gift cards), tree, decorations, etc. I don't start until about two weeks before Christmas.

I don't know about all of you but I hate to see the decorations up so early and I've never been one to go shopping on black Friday. It's seems a little scary to me especially after watching the news later that night.
For all those who shop on this day good luck and stay safe!

Today's card was a quick card for me. There are no stamped images and it's made from paper scraps and one rub-on.

Dance in the rain.....

Today I played with two Crafters Workshop templates to make this tag. I've been really into yellows, oranges, red and used those colors for the tag.

This tag has distress stains, distress inks, Dylusions Rubber Stamps, acrylic paint, old music paper and glossy accents that I added to the rain drops to make them look wet.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sympathy Card

I had to make a sympathy card and I went to my favorite go to die, Tim Holtz' bird and cage. Its one of those dies that can be used for anything.

The hearts are from a 12x12 canvas sheet from Canvas Corp and I used a spellbinders heart die to cut them out.  It doesn't cut them out all the way so I had to do a little snipping but not much.

Supplies:
Brown cardstock
Pattern Paper: Creative Memories
Canvas: Canvas Corp.
Bird: Tim Holtz die
Hearts: Spellbinders die
Adirondack Colorwash Spray - sailboat blue
Ivory ribbon

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas Week #9

Salutations! It's time for my ninth tag of Christmas for The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge.  My inspiration for my tag are the stars on Linda's.  I covered a manila tag with an old music sheet, used a Crafter's Workshop stencil, Adirondack Sailboat Blue color spray for the background and (you can't see it in the picture) I used Distress Crackle in Rock Candy on top of it. Since there is silver on the stars, I added silver foil tape all around the edges of the tag. For some sparkle I added the flourishes and added Diamond Stickles on the stars.

Choose to Shine!

Salutations!  I've been playing with stretched canvas again. Canvas for me is like an art journal. I feel so free to do whatever.  If I don't like it, I can just paint right over it.

This was made with old book paper, old music sheets, rub ons, paint daubers, distress stains and Crafter's Workshop templates.  It is a 4"x4" stretched canvas. I really love how this looks.

Joy!

Salutations!  I love using old sheet music on cards and I decided to try to do a little scene on it for this card.  I colored the sheet music with distress stain (broken china) and stamped trees and snowflakes (Tim Hotlz). I stamped Santa (Tim Holtz) on a manila tag and cut him out, colored him and added White Enamel Accents to his beard. I popped him off the card and added snowflake buttons and the word Joy.

Here is a close up of his beard.

I love the way it came out.

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #214

Salutations! I've been busy with papers and inks today and made a card for Mojo Monday.  Here is this weeks sketch:

I decided to use this sketch to make something I'm going to frame and hang in my craft room. A few weeks ago I made some background papers and haven't used them yet plus I have a few new stamps that needed to be inked!

I love the color combination. I may give it as a gift for Christmas but I haven't decided yet.
Enjoy!

Supplies:
Cardstock in black, turquoise
Black and Ivory French Script by Canvas Corp.
Handmade paper
Dylusions Rubber Stamp Set - Sentiment

Ink On My Fingers - Sunday Stamper Week 179 - The First Noel

Salutations! Today I joined a challenge on Ink On My Fingers hosted by Hels Sheridan. You really need to check out her blog. Her art work is beautiful! This week's Sunday Stamp Challenge is Christmas. I decided to make a tag.

At first this was going to be a real simple tag but as I played it changed completely. I painted the tag with acrylic paint and used a Crafters Workshop stencil to add the swirls to the background. Stamped the trees and houses and added snow (Liquid Applique) and added Santa and reindeer.

Supplies:
Manila tag
Acrylic Paint
Stamps: Trees (Stampin Up) Houses (Hero Arts)
Santa and Reindeer (No clue)
Marvy Liquid Applique
Crafters Workshop Template

It's the little things....

Salutations!  Here is a tag made with Dylusions Rubber Stamps, Tim Holtz stamp, distress inks, and Pan Pastels.

This one I was experimenting with color combinations.
The little chipboard bird is from Joann Store's collection.

Let It Snow. NOT!

Salutations!  Today I have a tag to show you.  Everyone who knows me knows I hate snow. I would rather stay home than drive in it.  BUT I seem to have snow on almost all my holiday cards and tags. This one is no exception.

This tag already had some leftover distress stain on it so I added some distress ink in fired brick, liquidtex ink in titanium white and bright silver.  The branch was stamped in archival jet black ink and colored with pan pastels. I added liquid applique and white flower soft.

Supplies:

Manila tag
Liquidtex Acrylic Ink
Pan Pastels
Distress Stain
Stamp - Branches PSX
Stamp - Vermillion - Stampin Up
Button snowflakes
Senitment - Recollection by Michaels

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge #8

Salutations!  Here is another tag for The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge #8. I am almost caught up!  Linda's tag has a Santa on the front that she stamped on muslin and stuffed it a little to make it puffy.  Well I have a few Santa stamps so I thought I would use Santa as my inspiration.

I love the way this tag looks. I had so much fun making it. I first took Tim Holtz tissue paper tapes and covered part of the tag and used Distress Stains to make a plaid backgroud. Then I cut grungeboard with Tim's clock die and colored with broken china distress stain. The tickets were colored with distress stain (peeled pain). The santa was the most fun to create. Once I colored him in I added Liquid Applique to it and once heated with my heat gun it puffs up.

Here is a closer look.

The only thing you have to be careful with if you are using inks you must paint a little bit of white paint underneath.  If you don't the liquid applique will pull the color from your inks.
It will not do that with achrival inks but I was using distress inks.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge #7

Salutations! I have a couple of tags to show you for The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge. This tag is for week number 7

Linda has a golden tree branch on her tag.
I decided to add the whole tree. Well, I added lots of trees.

The background I made with a Crafters Workshop template and distress inks. All the stamps are Tim Holtz except for the senitment.

Tell me and I'll forget!

Salutations! Lately if you tell me anything I'm going to forget. Don't know why. Lots on my mind. But I love this quote (nothing to do with me remembering) and decided to play with some inks and stamps to design a colorful background.

This is 5"x5" and I haven't decided to make it into a card or frame. The stamps and quote are Dylusions Rubber Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Artistic Stamper - Creative Team Challenge

Salutations! On The Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog they are having a November challenge - Backgrounds. I love to make backgrounds so I decided to create a tag. Lately my new favorite color combo is distress stain or ink in wild honey and aged mohagony. I've been using it on everything. Also, the leaves and the bird are colored with Pan Pastels.

The bird is from Stampin Up and the rest of the stamps are Dylusions Rubber Stamps. I don't have any Artist Stampers stamps yet BUT you should look at their site. Gorgeous stamps. My wish list is quite large.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
