TCW Gel Medium Gloss - When it Dries You Can See Right Through IT!

Hi Everyone.
Today I have a small Feather Abstract to show you. It's 5"x7" and I even have a few step out pictures.  I'm creating a Semi-Transparent Journal and this is a piece of that plastic I'm using.

I started out by using a brayer and adding paint to the background.  While the paint was wet I put a stencil on top and wiped away the paint. Sorry I don't remember which stencil I used. It was from The Crafters Workshop.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project.
The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

Then I added a stamp to the background with Archival Ink. The stamp is an old unmounted stamp and I do not know where it came from.

Here is where the fun happens. I added the feathers from TCW389 Fancy Feathers with TCW Gel Medium Gloss.  As you can see its white while its wet.

BUT when it dries it's crystal clear.  I added some titanium white Golden High Flow Acrylic around the leaves.

Here is the finished piece.  I'm in love and will be making more of these.

I hope you try some TCW Gloss Gel Medium. It's so much fun to work with. Can you imagine all the possibilities?
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Yupo + India Inks + High Flow Acrylics + Stencils = Purple 1

Hi Everyone! Just sharing my last abstract. This one I call Purple 1. It's created on Yupo with India Inks, High Flow Acrylics and Stencils.  I do not remember which stencils. They were from The Crafters Workshop but that's all I know. When I create Abstracts I only use a very small portion of the stencil design. I also don't take pictures along the way. I'm usually so into a zone that I don't remember how I finished it.

It is now all framed and ready to hang!

THANK SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY!!

A Beautiful Bouquet

Today I'm sharing a Design Team project for The Crafters Workshop. August 1 starts with the new design team and new stencils.  Make you check out all the TCW new team and their creations!

I created an easy piece of art using TCW823 Rose Bouquet and TCW Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste.

The best part about TCW's Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste is that you can let it dry, add water with a brush and add a touch of paint and it will spread through the paste. I usually use high flow acrylics or add water to paint for this technique. I wouldn't wait a few days to do it. I've found the longer it sits it no longer reacts with water very well.

You can see the whole tutorial HERE.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project.
The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to head over the The Crafters Workshop Blog to check out what the rest of the Design Team created!

I'm Creating a Semi-Transparent Art Journal

Hi Everyone! I have all these plastic pages sitting around so I decided to create one big art journal with them. These are covers to a booklet that we give out to clients at work. When they are scanned the covers are ripped off and thrown away.  I decided to keep them all.

The plastic has a lightly frosted side but you can still through it. Here is an art journal page I create for a Design Team post for The Crafters Workshop.  You can see the entire post HERE.

The stencil I used is called TCW779 Wild Roses. The stencil is so beautiful but I only wanted to use the roses.  In this situation all I used was painters tape. It's a great way to only use part of the stencil design.

That's it for today!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

on my mind, out of my mind, oh no my mind

Oh no my mind is right!!!! Working during beautiful warm sunny days all I'm thinking is I'm missing them. My mind is outside when it should be at my desk working. Summer goes by so fast. We really only have 8 weeks of good summer and this year it hasn't been that hot.

Here is a project I started. It's a 12" x 12" wooden pallet sign that I picked up on sale. I created a gorgeous background on it then I screwed up.  I was adding a quote with a TCW stencil and I hit the stencil by mistake and it all smeared. Since the modeling paste is so hard to clean up off wood I decided just the smear it around. Now it sits waiting to see what I'm going to do with it.

There are times I don't care whether modeling paste smears. Sometimes it can give the project extra texture.  Here is a page from my art journal.  You can see the TCW Octopus is a little wonky and the grasses and stones at the bottom are smeared.

During June I had family here from Florida. We had quite a few fun activities. We had family paint ball day with Goblies. Goblies are biodegradable paint balls filled with non-sticky plant based goo. All nontoxic. We bought them at Michaels.  The paint is washable and when the shirts were washed the paint was gone. We had fun throwing the paint balls at each other. You do have to wing them hard to get them to pop. It was easier to just smoosh them on each other. I did not get paid for this post I just wanted to share it.

Even in my hair .....

We also made slime. I don't have the recipe. I just had fun making and playing with it.

Someone added white paint to theirs.

This is mine.

The went by so fast and we all had a lot of fun.  Dinners, fires and Smores, ice cream, and play time. Perfect!!!

And when I'm on the phone at work I doodle.

That's it for today!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
