No Time! Art Journal to the Rescue

I'm hoping to be able to have art for you this week but I may not.
Tax season is here and I'm swamped at work.
Art journals are the easiest way for me to create art when I don't have a lot of time.
I decided to play with another abstract piece.
You can tell my mood.
I think the circles are the never ending piles of tax returns I have to finish.

That's it for now.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'm Addicted

I usually never use gold.
Lately I've been using it on everything.
But the one thing I've been using even more
GLASS BEADS

I'm addicted.
Stay tuned!

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

A quick art journal page to show you all.
This page already had a background.
It was in my pile of pages I don't like.
So I used circle masks that I created and Doodling Daisy Balzer Bits from The Crafter's Workshop and put them on top of the page.
Inside of using a sponge and paint, I used Liquitex Spray Paint in white over the masks.
I used white paint with the Today Framed Fragment and outlined it with black marker.
The rest is just scraps of paper from my scraps box.

Playing with New Stencils from The Crafter's Workshop!

My favorite place to play with new stencils is in my art journals.
The 2015 stencils are my favorite.
You can see them all HERE and HERE.

My supplies with links:

Stencils:

Acrylic Paints:
Grey
Black
Green

Texture Spray:

I used the stencils with gray and black acrylic inks to create the background.
Then with the Parasol stencil I used the texture spray through it.

Here is a close up of the texture spray.
It's gives great texture to the page.
It also will give you a great resist with other inks.
Make sure you clean your stencil right away.
This dries fast and you don't want to leave it on your stencil.

I added the Bay Branches and Grow to the page in green and outlined it with a white pen.

Here is another close up of the texture spray and the branches.

Flowers and Butterflies

I have a post on The Crafter's Workshop where I made a card with new stencils.
It was a lot of fun to make.

You can see how I created the card by clicking HERE.

The 2015 stencils by The Crafter's Workshop I think are my favorite.

You and Me Silly We Will Be!

A fun, silly, and photography filled weekend left me with tons of funny cell phone pics. My goddaughter is moving out of state so I wanted to make her something special before she moved.

I had a Tim Holtz Small Folio that I bought a long time ago. I love the idea of the folio but didn't know how to go about using it. With pictures, stencils, spray paint and a glass of wine I started. I started by using gesso and painted the whole folio and then used stencils and spray paint to finish it.

I downloaded all my cell phone pics to my computer and printed them out.
Inside the folio is this piece that I didn't really know what I would do with it.
Thank goodness for You Tube!

I added all the layers first before I attached it to the inside of the folio.

Here is what the inside looks like.........

I decided to use black so the pictures would pop off the page.
Love using the white pen too!

Rub-Ons on some pages.

I'm so glad I had lots of pics!

This is the last page. This opens to a larger picture.

This picture was taken at the beach.

This was very time consuming.
That's why I don't scrapbook; it's never ending.
BUT
I had fun making this.

Working Full Time and Creating Art...so behind

Working full time sometimes keeps me out of my art room.
I work for a tax accountant and it's tax season.
I'm actually in my art room almost every night but later than usual.
The hardest part is wanting to create something but I'm so tired I'm falling asleep at the table.
Or trying to edit pictures to post and can't stay awake.
I know funny!

Tax season is the only time I fall a little bit behind on creating art, editing pictures, mailings, and posting to this blog.
I may luck out and not have to work this weekend. Only time will tell.

Since I have no edited pictures to show you any of my art, I leave you with this art journal page I created last year for tax season.

I may post it every year!
Stay tuned art is on the way!

Thanks so much for your patience as I play catch up.

Canvas #3

Here is my canvas #3 of Donna Downey's 10x10x10x10 Online Workshop.

This is the first step of the first layers.
Sorry, no other pictures of other steps.
I just started and worked until it was finished.
Didn't even think of the camera.

Here is the finished canvas.

It has lots of texture. Here are a couple of close ups.

Here is the link for the online workshop.
If you like to paint, love layers, it's a great workshop.

Art Journal Play Time with New TCW Stencils!

My god-daughter, Cassidy, and I had a wonderful weekend playing with The New 2015 Crafter's Workshop Stencils. You can see them all HERE.

The best place to play with new stencils is my art journals.
I have no step by step but I will list all the stencils we used (that I remember) with links at the end.

Here is my journal page.

For the top of her head I used scraps.
I keep all sorts of pieces of paper and I'm trying to get rid of them.
Here is a close up.

The tulips at the top is a photograph I took in Chicago.
The rest are just scraps I keep for that special occasion.

Here is Cassidy's page.

Before you ask, the fairy stencil I bought in Hobby Lobby (Two Fairies).
It was the last one and I gave it to her so I don't know who manufactured it.

Here is the list of new stencils we used from The Crafter's Workshop.

I'm am linking this to Balzer Designs Art Journal Every Day
