Is it Spring Yet!

Salutations! I can't believe how much snow we have here. On January 27th we had another storm which added another 18 inches of snow.  I just have a few pictures to show you.

The first one is titled "What Car?"

My next picture is titled "After The Storm". Our driveway and walkways were all shoveled but still had to wait for the plows to come through the neightborhood.

Here is a shot of icicles on the house. I actually caught a drop falling off one!

Thats it for the snow! The tag I'm going to show you I made for a challenge on the Paper Wishes Message Board.  Challenge #2 was called Going Dotty.  Your project must have dots and show a new technique or one you haven't tried.  Well, I made this tag and when I was done it was missing something.  Thats when I remembered the technique of using Ranger's Glossy Accents on your project to make words and embellishments pop.  I decided to try it on the red dots on the tag and it added the right touch it was needing.

It's hard to see from the picture but the do seem to pop off the page. That's it for now. Thanks so much for stopping by.

It's time for more photographs! Blue Jay

Salutations!  After the last snow storm there was a beautiful Blue Jay in my willow tree. He stayed in the tree for over 30 minutes so I had fun trying to get a shot of him. My camera is a Canon Digital Regel XTi with Canon Zoom Lens EF-S 55-250mm.  The shots would have come out better with a bigger zoom lens. I've been keeping my camera on manual and playing with lots of settings.

The next picture was very, very, dark. This was my attempt at fixing it in Photoshop Essentials. Hopefully after tax season I will have more time to take a class in photoshop. Right now I'm not sure what I'm doing!

The next one is my favorite. He kept flying around and only staying on a branch for a brief time. I finally got him when he looked right at me.  I snapped the shot and he flew away!

Thats it for now. Thanks so much for stopping by!

THINK SPRING!

Salutations! Today I have a tag to show you. Think of it as a garden view. All the flowers were handmade and colored with glimmer mists and alcohol inks and the fence was made from slide mounts. Enjoy!

Snow is a Four Letter Word!

At least for me. If it would snow only on the grass that would be great. I hate to drive in it. I work 35 miles away from home and by the time I get to work or home from work in this weather, I'm totally stressed. I thought I would share a few pictures of today's storm.

19 Inches! Well almost. I couldn't believe how much snow! Yes, the yardstick is upside down. I deleted the right picture by accident but we did get 19 inches.

This was taken towards the end of the storm. A few house away through the trees I see the flag is still flying!

My husband clears paths to the backyard, to the electric and water meters. He goes out to shovel on and off all day. We are the only house in our city where you can see the driveway and walkways!

While I was in the backyard taking pictures, the sun came out and I caught this shot of the snow falling off the branches of the trees. I think its a pretty shot.

Thats it for now! Although it was a snow day I took the time to do household stuff which wasn't very much fun.
Thanks for stopping by. I will have more soon!

Who Loves Embossing Folders? I do!

Salutations,

Over the holidays I was able to play with the Cuttlebug and embossing folders. I don't have one yet but I will be purchasing one soon.  I had so much fun.  I made this quick card with an embossing folder and the owls I made with a paper punch from Stampin Up.

Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year with Old Art!

Salutations! They are not really old but I did make these mixed media pieces last year. My craft room looks like Christmas threw up all over it so I haven't been in there to make anything.

I love words and quotes and use them on cards and other pieces of art.  These were my first pieces of mixed media work and I really liked making them.  All I really did was pick paint colors and throw it on the canvas and just let the creativity flow!

Enjoy!
