Peace

Thanks to Linda from the The Funkie Junkie Boutique I have some #10 manila tags. She loves this size and said she would never go back. I'm not sure I love them just yet. I will tell you it took me a few days to finish this. I created the background and then I didn't know what to do so it sat on my table. Then by a happy accident I knocked over my bin of vintage photos and found the perfect picture.

I used the tattered floral die to make all the flowers and the doily I had in my scraps. My new sentiment stamp is from Red Lead Paperworks and thought it was perfect.

Here are few close ups:

TAG YOUR IT! Weekly Tag Project

WELCOME TO TAG YOUR IT!

Like many of you I use my tags to pick up all the extra inks and paints on my craft sheet.  I have so many tags now with many forms of colors on them. I decided to post once a week showing you the tag I picked (with my eyes closed) and show you what I created with it.

Today is my first tag.  Sorry to say I was so excited to start this project that I forgot to take a picture of the tag before I started.  Sooooooo picture this tag with only yellow paint on it.

I used white acrylic paint to make the stars through a home made stencil. The white dots are made with a white pen.  The Zia Fly is from Stamp Zia and sadly they are going out of business on July 7th.  They are selling their stamps at 50% off. I stamped the fly on scrap paper and fussy cut it out. I stamped the small star in yellow.

I'm using this one for a bookmark.

HELP! I'VE BEEN TAKEN OVER BY STENCIL ALIENS!

I know something took over my body because when I received my order I bought 24 stencils!!! 24!!!

My head is spinning with ideas or it's the aliens spinning my head around.
I should have my head checked!

I pulled from my stash an 8x10 mixed media board.
Lots of acrylic paints in bright colors and Dylusions Spray Inks.
Stencils, stencils and more stencils.
Closed my eyes pulled two stencils, white acrylic paint, spray ink colors and started.

After the first picture the aliens took me over completely.
I didn't even realize an hour went by and I didn't take any pictures. Sorry!

I love it BUT I wanted to see how far I can go with it.

I added stars just the two larger ones then felt it needed more.

So I added white stars.

By now the aliens had me exhausted.
I decided to fight the aliens from within and walk away.
I will post the final piece when I'm done.

Beauty Shines Bright

This so far is my favorite tag. I love all the layers. I have had the tag sitting on my table for about a month and as I work on different projects I add the leftover paints and inks on it.  I'm going to keep continuing to do that on tag. You must try it.  Just keep adding to one tag and see what happens.

Don't you just love this picture. She is so beautiful. I would have liked to see that dress in person. Very interesting.

The little cream flowers I made from a paper punch. It was an odd shaped punch but I kept adding layers and layers and realized they looked like roses.

Here are pictures of all the layers.

The stamp I used is actually one stamp from Red Lead Paperworks. I stamped it on the scrap paper and cut.

Graduation Time

Today my great-niece, Cassidy, is graduating from high school. We are all so excited for her.

CONGRATULATIONS CASSIDY!

This card was made on watercolor paper; watercolors, my free balloon stamps, and sentiment stamp from Red Lead Paperworks. The flying geese is a stencil (Crafters Workshop) and I used modeling paste to add dimension. Here is a close up of the geese.

This card is an easel card so she can display it anywhere.

Happy Father's Day

Here is a card I made for my husband. It has many layers of stamps and inks.  The background was made with lots of spray inks, stamps, and them put in an embossing folder. I fussy cut around what was embossed and attached it to piece of corrugated paper.  The man in the top is from the stamp set Time Travelers from Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz and I added the clock and gears.  The background paper I stamped the Time Traveler on was made previously with spray inks and a stencil.

Here are some close ups.

Wings of Hope

This is a 5x5 mixed media piece I created on watercolor paper. I've been very focused on yellow and orange lately. The background was made with white acrylic paint through stencils and used yellow and orange watercolors.  I played with the color for a while until it was nice and bright. Once dried I added the doily, butterflies, stamps and rub-ons.

Explore Life

I have had this vintage picture for so long.  I really didn't know if I would ever use it until I found some metal embellishments and this tag that had many shades of green on it. I just had a few stamps and some old paper and it was done.

I love old photographs. Their faces are so beautiful.
As you can see below there are many layers.
