The Crafters Workshop: Imagine what is Possible

I just realized that I'm a little behind in posting about some of my posts for The Crafters Workshop.
Tax season doesn't help and this year we have been super busy.
Creating art in one way or another is a perfect distraction.

First up is a frame I created using the Mini Palms stencil.
Head on over to The Crafters Workshop and find out how I created it.

The next post is easy peasy backgrounds that you can create for cards.
You can check it out HERE.

I hope you head on over to the The Crafters Workshop blog and see all the great creations from everyone.

Also, they are having their very first Design Team call.
Head on over and find out all the details and apply.
I'm applying! Why don't you?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

New Beginnings

The one thing about stencils is I like using them to create backgrounds.
This page was created that way.

Here is my set up in my living room.

All kinds of markers, stamps, stencils, distress paint, glue stick and one of my plastic bins of paper scraps.

Mini Courture

I think this might be my favorite page so far in my mini journal.
The little images are off the packaging from Mini Couture Dylusions stamp set.
The background is just scrap paper with a little distress paint.

Love it!!!!

I Promise To Love Myself

Here is another page of my small journal.
I'm really enjoying this journal.
The small size is perfect.

I received an email asking what my art set up looked like in my living room.
With my sore shoulder I'm sitting there with a heating pad with a need to create.
This little journal is keeping me sane between the pain in my shoulder and tax season.
I will post pictures of my set up soon.

Wander and Explore

I love using stencils for mixed media creations.
I used these two stencils

Lots of acrylic paints, gel medium, and miscellaneous medal pieces.

Here is a close the first close up. You can see the butterflies from the Specimen stencil and the word from the Urban Landscape stencil.

Here is a close up of the focal on the canvas. I painted them with gesso and used water downed acrylic paints to color them.

This was my big project this past weekend.
I start physical therapy for my torn rotator cuff and I probably won't be able to do much.
They say it will feel worse before it feels better. Oh Joy!

Three Friends, Three Hearts, Triple the Joy

The three friends on this journal page I created digitally. They are funny looking.
I found them in my box of scraps.
This page had modeling paste on it so I just added some color with spray paints and the hearts.

I will grow strong

A quick journal page to show you in my small Moleskine journal.
This small journal is the perfect size when I don't have a lot of time to play in my art room.

This small journal I am using only scraps. You know all those lovely bits of papers that you can stand to throw away.

I hope to look like this!

I work full time for a tax accountant.
It's tax season and it's time for everyone to file their annual tax returns.
We are a small firm. There are only 9 of us and we all wear lots of hats.
So now I'm working late and weekends.
Tax returns are due April 15th so I hope I look like this on that day.

This New Day

Today I have a tag to show you.

It already had a design on it already.

I created this background using acrylic paints and these stencils:

The Crafters Workshop Stencils:
TCW459 Harlequin Circles NEW
TCW240 Screen

On white card stock I used black paint and stencil Crossed (TCW451) and cut out what I needed for the tag.

To add more color I found some flowers made from deli paper to add another pop of color.

I added a quote:

I will begin
this new day
with my own
WINGS
and know what is
real and true

I  hope you like the tag.

Who Are You?

Here is another page of my mini Moleskine journal.
I love using my saved scraps and stamps for collage.

The striped pieces are the inside of an envelope.
Many of the security envelopes have great patterns inside.
Next time you look at your mail look inside the envelopes!

Finders Keepers!!!!

Look what I found cleaning up my journal shelf!

A small Moleskine, brand new and never used.

I love small journals.

Here is my very first page.

I've been making lots of collages in this journal.
Everything on this page is from scraps.
I didn't make anything special.
I love it when it all comes together.
Stay tuned for more!
