Ugly Canvas BUT not sure I saved it either!

Well, I think it's ugly.
I'm not a blue person.
I was using spray paint and by accident this painting was sprayed.
It's not a happy painting.

Black gesso to the rescue!
Maybe a little white paint.
Nope so not working.
I have no ideal what I'm doing.

So I took the new Triangle Sunburst stencil plus some heavy body acrylics

and painted the stencil design on

to look like flowers

I used the Herbarium stencil to add some leaves plus I decided to add more flowers.

I'm still trying to decided if I like it or not.
Is it still ugly?

Let's turn on it's side

Still not sure I like.
I originally wasn't going to share it.
But I like to share my good, bad and ugly projects.

Do you like?

Balzer Bits, Fragments and Remnants by The Crafter's Workshop

Hello.
The Crafter's Workshop has new
Balzer Bits
Fragments
Remnants

I thought I would show you what they looked like.

You can use them just like a stencil.
The best part is they are small and you can take them with you.

Today I have a tag to show you where I added the Graffiti Bit.

I used painters tape and only use part of the stencil to add a stripe down the tag.

You may not see the letters but using the tape it gives the Bit a completely different look.

Once  it was dry, I added the Music Sheet stencil in black paint.
I cut out the skeleton from the Dance Macabre stamp from Stampendous and attached it to the tag.

Here is a close up of the skeleton.

The number 31 are wood embellishments, the tag I painted with the same colors as the tag, I added some glass beads and attached it to the tag with a brad.

I did add additional glass beads on the tag here and there.
It was fun to create.

It's a Spoooky City

I bought these two stamp sets recently.
I love them.
They are both from Tim Holtz.

I love old black and white photographs of buildings and like to use them in collage projects.
This one I decided to use as one big city.

Here is the card I created.
I love the cityscape in the background.

All the colors in the background is Ken Oliver's Color Burst including the Cityscrape.
I added some Color Burst Indigo to gesso and spread it on the card with a palette knife.

Close up of the new city.

Love the spiders although I'm hate them alive.

I used a white pen for his teeth and added it to the city too.

More of the background.

I love using the cityscape to build new cities.
I will be using this stamp set a lot.

Textures Backgrounds and Acrylic Inks

Hi!!!
I can't wait to show you these background I made.
I love making cards but I don't like to make them so three dimensional that it costs more to the mail them.
Using Liquitex Super Heavy Gesso and Acrylic Inks I created really cool textured backgrounds in some fun colors.

I don't have step by step pictures because I was playing and didn't know if it would work.

I cut mixed media paper to fit the front of the card.
I added the Believe Script stencil to the background with black acrylic paint.
Using a texture tool I spread super heavy gesso on the card and while it was still wet I dropped paint on and let it do it's thing.

Here is a close up.

On each card I added:

The Raven I stamped on mixed media paper, cut it out, used paint to add color and to add something different I used TCW stencils (sorry don't remember which stencils I used) to add designs to each bird.  I used a stamp from Red Lead Paperworks called Scary Stories with black archival ink and cut out the words and attached them to the card.

This one I dropped the inks and used the texture tool though the gesso.

This picture shows you the super heavy gesso still wet with inks.
If I remember I sprayed this with water to see what would happen.

They were so much fun to create.
Not at all my spooky colors I like to use.

Elegant Motif: A New 2015 Stencil from The Crafters Workshop

I'm so excited to show you another new stencil from The Crafters Workshop.

This stencil will definitely be one I use over and over.
It can be used for so many things.

I used the 12x12 size to create art journal pages.

First I used acrylic paints to both pages.

I let the paint dry until tacky then closed and opened my art journal.
The paint stuck to the other pages and torn some holes into the pages.
It gave me extra texture.

Using white acrylic paint and a cosmetic sponge I added the Elegant Motif stencil to the pages.

When it dried I added DecoArt Media Crackle Glaze to the pages.

The crackle glaze dried and I add DecoArt Media Antiquing Cream in English Red to both pages.

I know it looks scary red but once you let it dry a few minutes take a baby wipe and wipe it off.

Continue to wipe it off until you like what you see.
Now you can see all the crackle and the stencil design.

On one side I added a little sign with washi tape all the way around it to frame it.
I added the birds (rub-ons) on top of the sign.

Here is the finished page.
The other birds are also rub-ons.

I did make a mistake.
I wanted it to say True Love Forever BUT I didn't realize I it was wrong until after I finished the page. Oh well.

The bridge and groom are my parents on their wedding day.
