Tea Time Mad Hatter Style! Plus a few more projects!

I think I had too much tea! I didn't get into my craft room until Saturday night and I just moved so fast by the time I looked around I was done!  So grab your favorite cup of whatever and see what I've made!

This one is my favorite.  As you all know I love mixed media and found a 5" x 5" clayboard panel at my favorite art store. Clayboard has a nice smooth surface and is perfect for mixed media. I will definately buy lots more.

I decided to use green wire to make stems for tea pot and tea cup flowers. The Mad Hatter is mad so thought it would be a perfect setting.

Here is an Alice ATC (Artist Trading Card). I bought illustration board that was already cut ATC size (2.5"x3.5").  Illustration board is thick and harder than paper so it's a perfect material for ATCs.

My next project is a card. Most of the paper was from my scap basket. I believe the paper is from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper pack and K&Company Roam paper pack. I just cut the paper into strips to make the backgroud.  The stamps are from Close To My Heart Aspire set.

Next another card.  I had this card in my scraps that I previously added a backgroud and used it as a challenge to think of what to add to it.  I decided to close my eyes and choose the next paper color. It was yellow so I decided to watercolor the flower in yellow and pink. The flower was made from Heartfelt Creations Lily Petal Precut Stamp set. I used the two smallest petals to make the flower. The sentiment is also from Heartfelt Creations. I'm not sure I like this card because of the colors but when I challenge myself with color I try to finish the project. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Thats it for now! I hope you enjoyed my projects.

Learn to Pause....

Salutations!  My craft room is still a mess and it has emptied out into my dining room. I have stuff I think in almost every room!  I've had so many idea's floating around in my head that I start and stop projects and don't clean up my supplies. Do you do that?  I wanted to make a card to include the collage stamp from StampersAnonymous, the sentiment stamp from Tim Holtz and only use black, red and white. The flower on the card is grungepaper with fired brick distress ink and I stamped it with the collage stamp and used a button brad for the center.

I hope you like the card. I'm off to clean up my craft room. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Let Your Heart Have Wings!

Salutations! Grab a cup of tea, sit and relax.  I have another 2" x 2" canvas to show you. It looks like a fast project but I started it and had to put it down. It just needed something and I couldn't put my finger on it.

It was already painted with honeycomb acrylic paint, the grungeboard heart was painted with alcohol inks and the grungeboard wings were painted with picket fence distress crackle paint. I placed it on the canvas and it was just too plain, boring, yuck. You get the picture!  I then added red spray ink from Inkadinkado, vanilla acrylic paint with bubble wrap for the background.  Still needed something....WORDS and SPARKLE!  Once I attached everything to the canvas it all worked together perfectly.

I love quotes and words on projects. I also love the look of individual letters glued together to form words. What I do is to find a font that I like that will work well with everything and type up the alphabet (over and over) and print it on a piece of matte presentation paper.  Its thick like cardstock so there is substance to each letter. When I need to make words I cut apart the letters. Its not for everyone but I love working with tiny things so it works for me.

One more thing!  This is a birthday tag I made for my neice for her Sweet 16!  She is so hard to make a card for but I new she liked bright colors.  I was only giving her money so in the back is a money pocket.

I hope you enjoyed both projects. I'm hoping to post more soon. I'm in the process of stopping everything I'm working on and and cleaning up my art room.  I can't see my table or the floor. It's a little overwelming right now so before I start anything I need a clean space.  Are you the same way?

That's it for now! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Rain, Rain, Go Away! But Think Happy Thoughts

Salutations!  It's been a very rainy day today! I shouldn't complain 1) it's not snow, 2) its a perfect day for the craft room, and 3) it's not snow. Oh I said that already. Today I did a lot of playing around. I have quite a few things I haven't used yet so it was a perfect day. I did work on some small canvas that are 2"x2".  So cute!  I do have one to share with you.

Isn't it cute? I think I'm going to add an eye screw so it can hang anywhere.

Supples: Acrylic paint in vanilla, turquoise, concord grape, bright pink, seaside; grungeboard wings painted with picket fencse distress crackle paint, the smallest daisy in the set from Heartfelt Creations called Daisy Patch Flowers; sentiment is from Inkadinkado; pink wire and crystals for butterfly.

Thats it for now. Thanks so much for stopping by.
