Don't Put Off Till Tomorrow.....

Salutations!  This card I have to show I was going to enter into Just Add Ink's sketch challenge but with family visiting and a new nephew in the family I didn't have the time to post it.

I still have many pieces left of the many composition board I have made so decided some for this card. I used a swirl template and distress ink on the dark pink cardstock to add some detail to the background.  I love quote stamps but I like to cut up the words to fit better on a card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: black, dark pink and white
Dictionary Paper
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral by Stampin Up
Black Ribbon

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Mojo Monday Card Sketch #201

Salutations! Today's card for is Mojo Monday's Sketch #201. I decided to make a Halloween card. It is one of the holidays that I have the most fun making cards.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I loved that the sketch had two panels in the front.  I wanted to make a spooky scene on the panel and cutting it in two would give it a different look.  I used distress inks to color the background and stamps for the scene. The bigger bats are stamps but I cut them out to make them look like they were popping out of the scene.

Supplies
Cardstock: white, green, orange, black
Pattern Paper: Basic Grey Lime Rickey
Black Ribbon
Trees: Branch Out Set by Stampin Up
Bats - Inkadinkado
Creep Words: Sugar Loaf
Ghost: Inkadinkado
Pearl Alcohol Ink
Distress Inks

Thanks so much for stoppping by.

MY CARD IS PUBLISHED IN RUBBERSTAMPMADNESS MAGAZINE!

I can't believe it but it's true! I'm so excited.  The pictures I have for you are not the greatest. My camera is having issues. You turn it on and it keeps taking pictures and I'm not touching any buttons!

This is the Fall 2011 Issue:

Isn't the cover amazing? It's made by artist Diana Sample.

Here is my card!

It's the card with the crows! The moon is an actual photograph I took and colored it with distress inks.
It feels pretty good to be published!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing my excitement!

Salutations! Today I'm going to show you Artist Trading Cards (ATC) for a swap on Scrapbook.com. There is no theme so we can make anything we want but we had to make three cards.

Here is a closer look.

These were fun to make. When I first sat down at my table I did not have a creative thought in my mind. I decided I needed to clean up a little to begin and I found all these little branches from Stampin Up's bird punch. Perfect for a nest!

Project Essentials
Bistol Paper ATC
Acrylic Paints
Spray Inks
Stamps: Heartfelt (Tim Holtz), Row of Houses by Hero Arts
Clear Embossing Powder
Yellow Color Box Ink
Distress Crackle Paint - broken china and picket fence

It's a Boy! Baby Shower Card

Salutations! My niece is having a baby and it's a boy!  Her mom gave her a baby shower and we all pitched in and bought her a stroller, baby carrier system thing. You need instructions to figure out how it open it and use it!  Strollers were so much easier to use when my daughter was a baby.  Anyways, I made this card for everyone to sign.

Again, I made my own background paper with templates, stamps, paint and ink.  The dictionary paper is from an actual dictionary (someone was going to throw them out) with definitions of baby and other words that start with the word baby.  The background stamp (Hush Little Baby) is a very old stamp. It's a stamp from the Personal Stamp Exchange, a.k.a. PSX.  As many of us know that company is no longer in existence and their stamps are coveted by many stampers. I have sold quite a few but I do have special PSX stamps that I will not give up like this stamp. The baby shoe stamp is from Stampendous and I have had it for years.

The Artisan, A Journal Page

Salutations!  I thought I would share with you another journal page. Like the others I haven't written anything yet. I think I might keep making pages until it's done then start journaling.  I think this might be my favorite page so far.

The heart is a piece of water color paper that I mod podged scraps and then added the cut out from a magazine in the center of the heart. This page is mostly acrylic paints and a little ink. I like the way the ink dripped down the page. It was one of those pages where every time I added something to it I loved it even more. Once the heart was added I knew I was done.

Mojo Monday #200

Salutations! On Mojo Monday challenge blog it's their 200th card sketch so I thought I would play along. Here is the sketch:

Here is my card.

The stamp set is from Stampin Up called Sense of Time. I love this set with the large clock face. I've used it many times for backgrounds.  The background I made with templates, inks, and paint.

Just Add Ink - An Inspiration Challenge #76

Salutations! I had lots of energy tonight and completed lots of cards. This card is for Just Add Ink's Inspiration Challenge.  Here is the beautiful photograph for the challenge:

Here is my card.

The background I made with acrylic paints and spray inks. The clouds are punched and fussy cut out of book paper. I had the bird punched out of scrap paper already and it matched the photo. The sentiment is from Cloud 9 Design stamps called Simple Thoughts - Travel. It was a quick card but I love the way the background came out. I think I may do more cards like that maybe as a set of cards like thank you cards.

Use It Tuesday - Challenge #11

Salutations! Use It Tuesday's Challenge is You are an animal! The only animal supplies are dog stamps but thats to common.  I thought I would use my daughter's favorite animal the alligator.

While trying to figure out how I was going to make alligator skin, I started going through all my papers and found crock paper.  I completely forgot I had it. I bought is years ago because I was going to do a scrapbook on my daughter's love of alligators.  The stamps are from Whipper Snapper and the flowers are from Heartfelt Creations.

She's all grown up and lives on her own now but she still loves alligators. She met her first one when she was three.  A large plastic one as tall as she was and my husband couldn't say no and bought it. We called it VISA gator because he used his credit card to pay for it because it was so expensive. She still has it and she's 23!

Thanks fo much for stopping by.

Circle Card Swap on Paper Wishes Message Board

Salutations! I joined a circle card swap on Paper Wishes Message Board.  A circle card swap is where you join a group of people and each person starts a card and then mails it to the next person on the list and they add something to the card and forward it until you receive your card back.  I finally received my card back and amazed at what was added.

Here is the front of the card:

When I started this card I added the circle background with distress inks and added the word, thanks, at the bottom. The ribbon and sun where added from members of the group.

Here is the inside of the card (which was blank):

The green border, the sunflower, sentiment and three green gems were added to the inside.

There were five in our group and the farthest I send a card was to France. It was so much fun.

Mojo #199

Salutations!  I thought I would show you a wedding card, a very modern wedding card, for my sister and her new husband.  I also followed Mojo Monday's #199 card sketch to create the card.

Here is the sketch.

I turned the sketch on it's side to create my card.

I stamped the heart and rose on dictionary paper on the word, love and it's definition. The background I made with crafters workshop templates, distress inks and paint. I like to make nontraditional looking cards for all occasions.

Supplies
Paper: White cardstock, bristol board, dictionary paper
Ink: Inkadinkado Spray Ink in red, distress inks in faded jeans, black soot, jet black archival ink
Paint: acrylic paint in yellow and white
Crafters Workshop Templates
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Flower by Stampin Up; Tim Holtz Artistry Collection called Heartfelt

My sister's wedding was a small ceremony in a green house type room of a restaurant. After the ceremony for pictures she wanted a bouquet to hold. I had a hard time starting it because of the colors but it ended up looking pretty good.

Art Journal Page 5

Salutations!  I've been working on more journal pages. I find there a wonderful sense of freedom in creating art journal pages. No rules, no sketches to follow, no certain size, etc., just do what comes to into my head.

This page is created with watercolors, book paper, clouds, bird and butterfly punches plus some tempates and red spray ink.  It was a fast page. It was the first time my hands and head were working together nicely!

I want to thank Penny at Penny's Page for nominating me for a blog award. I'm am so honored and very excited! This is my first one!  YEAH!

Its just too cute! I love Flower in Bambi!

THANK YOU PENNY!

Also CONGRATULATIONS to Cheryl at Cher-ing Paper Memories who receive an award!

Please stop by Penny's and Cheryl's blogs for some amazing creations!

This is quick post. My sister's wedding is Saturday and I haven't make her a card yet but I finished her bouquet. I will post a picture of it sometime next week. My niece is also going to have a baby any day now and I would love to make her a card too.  I have all the cards my mother received when she gave birth to me and my brother.  They are all in perfect condition in a cigar box and I want to use those beautiful vintage images.  AND...I would love to make some cards for challenges if I can fit them in this weekend.  Hopefully, I can pass this award on too!

THANKS AGAIN!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY!

Fly!

Salutations! I started working on a canvas and made a mistake on it and didn't want to throw it out. I found some scraps of fabric at A.C.Moore in their sale bins. It was a perfect cover up for this 3"x3" canvas.

The fabric was floral and I cut out some of the flowers and glued those on to the canvas. There is a little bit of blue and yellow acrylic paint here and there on the canvas. I used the bird punch from Stampin Up to make a template and traced it onto grungepaper. Once the bird and its wing was cut out I painted the bird with broken china and picket fence distress crackle paint. The frame is a slide mount that I painted with distress crackle paint and attached it to the canvas with pop dots. The three flags where made out of scraps of paper and attached to the string. When I finished attaching all the pieces I added the little pearls all around the frame.

I love to use grungepaper in lots of my projects but it's hard to cut with a paper punch. With my favorite paper punches I punch out the shapes and save them as templates to trace onto grungepaper and fussy cut them out to use on projects. Of course I can cut lots of shapes with my dies and big shot but I have many paper punches that I love to use so the templates are perfect for me.

Supplies:
3" x 3" stretched canvas
Gesso
Blue and Yellow Paint
Floral fabric
matte mod podge
slide mount
Distress Crackle paint in picket fence and broken china
Stampin Up bird punch
grungepaper
scrap paper for flags
blue and yellow acrylic paint
pearls from stash

Just Add Ink - Color Challenge #75

Salutations! Had some time after a busy weekend to play in my craft room tonight. I created a card for Just Add Ink's Color Challenge.

Here are the colors.

Here is my card!

I love the sentiment stamp and always wanted to use it with numbers in the background. I have the numbers template from The Crafters Workshop and made my own ink spray with soft suede ink from Stampin Up and I used the cherry cobbler ink with a florish stamp all on vanilla paper. The larger heart is a template and I attached book paper to it and colored it with cherry cobbler ink. The smaller heart, cut out of book paper is a Tim Holtz stamp from his artistry collection called heartfelt. I'm in love with birds right now. I've been using them on so many things. This bird was cut from grungepaper (Tim Holtz bird and bird cage die) and painted then added the stamps. After not creating anything all weekend this was just what I needed.

Supplies
Ivory and cherry cardstock
Book paper
Ink: cherry cobbler, soft suede, jet black archival ink
Numbers template from The Crafters Workshop
Heart template
Stamps: sentiment by Dawn Houser, Florentine scroll background stamp by Hero Arts; Heart and other florishes by Tim Holtz Artistry Collection called Heartfelt
Black Ribbon from HOTP Vintage Rose Collection

An Art Journal Page and My Favorite Stamp!

Salutations!  I thought I would show you another art journal page.  I haven't written anything on it yet. The heart stamp on the page is my favorite right now (I think I told you already!). I don't know why.

I made the background with just watercolor pencils. I wanted to see how fast I can make a page. The sentiment says, Friendships are seen through the heart not though the eyes. It's a little smeared because I dropped the stamp by mistake but its okay.  The stamps are all from one of Tim Holtz artistry collections. I also used a crafters workshop template too.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Having fun on canvas again!

Salutations!  I'm have a ton of fun working on canvas lately.  When I've completed a canvas it takes quite a while to get all the ink, paint and glue off my hands.

I originally wasn't going to put a girl on the page but I had the red pattern paper and I couldn't resist making a dress. The skirt is a little big. I was having so much fun that I was distracted and forgot to cut it down a little before I glued it. Thats okay it still works fine.  The heart is a stamp from one of Tim Holtz artistry collections. It's my favorite stamps lately. I seem to be using it on everything!
