A Hummingbird and $1 Bin Find

Once a week I look through the $1 bins at the craft store.
I'm always on the lookout for something that I can paint.
My last trip I scored small fabric pouches with zippers.
They were white and each had a small design on it.

Each little fabric pouch has fringe all around it so I used painters tape to cover up the fringe.
I did paint the back and front in white fabric paint on both sides.
That was the only fabric paint I had so I finished it with regular acrylic paint.

I used the Retrobursts stencil (TCW439) on the front and back.
I started with black and gray.

Then I continued adding the stencil design in more colors.
This is what both sides look like when I finished.

Then with heavy gesso I added the hummingbird stencil (TCW519).
I let it dry overnight.

The next day I painted the hummingbird in blues and white.

Here is a close up of the hummingbird.

My daughter loves hummingbirds.
I will be visiting this month.
I may give it to her if I let it go.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
