Monet Water Lillies - MY WAY

Hi Everyone!
I'm very excited to show you my latest painting.
I've always loved Monet's Water Lillies paintings and could stare at them forever. Being on The Crafter's Workshop Design Team I have lots of stencils and decided it's time to create my own.

Using the Koi Pond  and the Wildflowers stencils, I created this painting.  The lilies are from the Whimsical Shrooms stencil and I added them with modeling paste.

This piece was created on a Birch wood cradled panel.

I lightened up the photo so you can see all the lily pads.

I'm now working on a series of these paintings.
I think I'm addicted.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils to create these projects.
The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

Traveling with Art Supplies

Hi Everyone!
When I go on vacation I always carry art supplies with me.
This trip I kept to watercolors knowing that paint and other supplies would be available.

You can see what my bag looks like and all The Crafter's Workshop stencils I carried HERE.

Today I'm going to show all the unfinished pages I worked on.

These pages are for coloring.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils to create these projects.
The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

I used watercolors on these.

Here are some other pages I used watercolors, paint, modeling paste and ephemera.

This page I just wanted to see what it would look like with lots of legs!

Not sure how I'm going to finish this one.
Although it has given me an idea for a canvas.

I've had these Zebras for a while now.
I cut them from reams of paper.
The Overlapping Stripes stencil is perfect for this page.

That's it for now.
You can see all The Crafter's Workshop stencil on Scrapbook.com.

More art to follow soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love it when it just happens.....

I didn't even plan or think about.
I just used what paints I had on my table.
I love this one.

You can see I used the Oblong stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.

I created this on mixed media paper.
Since I didn't know what I was going to do, I didn't want to use a canvas or wood board. Now I wish I did.

Also, as I was cleaning up my table even the deli paper underneath everything I worked on this weekend looks pretty cool.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

New 12x12 Mixed Media Canvas

Hello!
This new canvas was inspired by Tim Holtz Numeric Alpha Parts. They are nice and large and perfect for a canvas.
The canvas is in purples and blues.

I used a top of a paint sprayer to add the circles.

I'm loving the DecoArt Crackle Paste on the bottom.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Re-Organized Art Room....Again

Yes, I re-organized again.
It just didn't feel right. I still felt claustrophobic and couldn't find things. If you follow me on Intagram you've seen the finished room but I have more pictures to show you all.

BEFORE
You can see the tour of the art room HERE.

AFTER

Can you see the difference?
The clutter is all gone. I either put it away, gave it away or threw it out. It's amazing how the clutter free environment has opened up my creative mind.

As you walk in the door, this is the wall on your right. It's still a work in process and I still have to hang art on all the walls.
I will have more shelf space under my printers when I put my Sci-fi DVD's in something different.

This is the wall you see when you look through the door.
Like I said I still have art to hang on the walls.
From right to left is my dehumidifier, my Big Shot and the piece under it holds all my dies and it rolls so I can move it anywhere, the next set of drawers (Ikea) are all rubber stamps and part of one drawer is embossing powders. The narrow set of drawers holds alcohol inks, larger pieces of chipboard, grunge board, my handmade stencils, small canvas, monoprinting plate, washi taps, and miscellaneous large embellishments. On top of the drawers are small bins full of paper and ephemera.

In the process, I was able to get rid of three piece of furniture. I replaced them with two sets of drawers (Ikea). In these drawers I keep canvas, art journals, extra paint, many different mediums, tags, cards, more painted papers I use in collages.

On top to the right are two drawers; top full of rubber stamps I use all the time and the bottom are all my numbers and letters I use on my canvases. On the left on the wall are tiny drawers full of embellishments, medal pieces, wood piece, flowers, etc.

What I love about these two pieces I now have a drying station. I used to put it all on the floor.

My paint center was a hard one to re-organize. In the end I decided to only keep the paint I use all the time. I felt it wasn't necessary to have paint from 15 different companies.

On the top shelf you will find adhesives, fine line paint bottles, Silks, India Inks, and Acrylic Inks.

Second shelf - Liquitex and Golden.
Third shelf - DecoArt and Liquitex and Golden Mediums.

In the large drawer underneath are my old music books and dictionaries, large art journals, and paper (Yupo, watercolor, mixed media).

On the floor, you see a red truck. It's a family antique (that's what they tell me) and it holds all the current Crafter's Workshop stencils and the little basket scrap paper.

The last picture is my table. My computer sits on top of a stand so I can easily watch workshops. To the left are paint brushes and miscellaneous tools I use all the time.

With nothing under the table, I can move all the brushes and tools so someone can sit on that side to play with me.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my new and improved art room.
I'm loving it right now.
Although as an artist, you all know well, that there are always changes to be made.
Any questions, leave me a comment.
