Art Journal Every Day Challenge

Hi Everyone! Tonight is the first time I'm using blogger with all its updates.  Still trying to figure it out. It's a little weird so if something looks funny when reading this post, please let me know.

I've been feeling pretty lazy and mostly playing in my art journal making backgrounds with paints, inks, stamps, and modeling paste. Also, doing a lot of reading. I am reading the Hunger Games trilogy with my god-daughter. I got a little behind during tax season so I'm still in the middle of book 2 but she's already on book 3!  This weekend I've been trying to catch up.

Here is a what the background looked like before I finished this journal page.

Here is a close up of the modeling paste bricks that I made with a Crafters Workshop Template.

Here is the final page. I'm joining Art Journal Every Day with is page. The tulips is an actual photography I took and cut for the page.  Julie's post showed how she used Prima's loose leaf journal. You should check out her great pages. Love them and the journal is pretty nice too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. what a lovely page!! I must check out the loose leaf pages.
I got a smile when I started reading your post-I'm pretty new to blogging so I near panicked when I saw the change. I wanted to post my spread too so I just went in and hoped it came out OK.

  2. Karenliz...your backgrounds are stunning. I'm loving how you are incorporating photos or parts of photos into your art journalling. Very inspiring.

  3. Karen,

I love your backgrounds. You really have a knack for putting them together. Love your bricks on this one.

I've been gone for the last month helping my dying grandmother. I just want you to know that your comments on some of my blogs helped lift my spirits while I was gone. Thanks.

  5. Wonderful work, I'm inspired; my 11 year old grandson is bringing all his journals to "do art" with Nana.
