MOJO Monday #188

Salutations! I'm a little behind in posting. I'm trying to get ready for my daughter's graduation and thought I posted it until I check here tonight.

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday!

Supplies:
Paper: Creative Memories Hummingbird Series; Stamp: Hero Arts Sweet Threads Set; White embossing powder; pearl dew drops, and white ribbon.

I've had this paper for a while and realized I never opened it. The paper is beautiful. I love all the colors. The humming birds are paper embellishments designed for the paper.  I added glossy accents to them for a little dimension.

That's it for tonight. I will have my regular post tomorrow.

MOJO MONDAY #187

Salutations! I decided to make a card for this weeks sketch challenge on Mojo Monday's blog. When I first started making cards I used sketches to learn what to do. I know when I sat down to make my first card it looked so complicated and I was very frustrated. It can be overwhelming. Using sketches helped me open up to a world of endless possibilities.  Now I love to challenge myself with sketches especially when I'm stuck in a rut and the creativity is not flowing.

Supplies
Green cardstock; Pattern Paper from My Minds Eye Stella Rose 6x6 paper pad; manila cardstock for circle and tag; ivory and green ribbon, Stampin Up (Bliss stamp set, scallop circle punch, antique brad)

I hope you liked the card. It was a fun sketch. You should try one of their sketches!

On another topic I won't be posting on my usual Sunday because of Easter and I'm in the process of packing up boxes for my daughter. She found her first apartment and we are shipping out what we can this weekend. I'm sure I will be shipping out boxes next week too! It's amazing how much stuff is in her room!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Monday!

Salutations! Well tax season is over! I work for a tax accountant and once the season is over we close the office at 1PM and go to lunch. We also get to be home a little earlier so I had time to clean up my craft room and post a tag I made this weekend.

I have a new stamp called Row of Houses from Hero Arts. I decided to use that stamp and some Core'dinations paper and make a country scene.

To make the tag I covered half the tag with paper from a 6x6 paper pack from My Minds Eye called Stella Rose. I love this paper. I then used the green core'dinations paper and tore it to make the landscape. The row of houses I stamped and embossed on yellow dotted paper also from the Stella Rose and cut them out and placed them one the landscape. The flowers are from Stampin Up called Botanical Blooms. I punched a sun and added string and a crystal.  I wanted to add some clouds to the sky so I added white ribbon. I really love the way the ribbon looks. Does it look like clouds to you?

I hope you liked the tag! I had fun making it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Where is Spring?

Salutations! The warmer whether of spring has not arrived here. I'm cold. I don't like the cold. I don't know about anyone else but I would rather be hot. It's sunny, windy and cold this morning but I'm hoping for it to warm up a bit.

I did find some Spring but it's in a form of a card.

Its a simple card. The background is made by a 6"x6" flower template and distress inks. Then I tore Coredinations paper (whitewash) for the side and punched the butterflies out of the same paper. Very simple and quick.

Friends Will Leave Footprints in Your Heart

Salutations! I told you last week that I was busy making string art flowers and uploaded a video tutorial. I wanted to show you what I made with all the flowers.

I folded a few of the sprielli flowers so it gave them a different look. I added green wire for stems and leaves and used Core'dinations paper with Tiny Mosiac embossing folder and sanded it. I used silver thread on all the flowers.  This is a 5" x 5" Maya Road chipboard square banner and I added the wire for hanging.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you like it.

My Core'dinations Creative Frenzy

Salutations!  Grab a cup of tea I have lots to show you.

Who is a paper hoarder?  I am!  I admit it. I go into a craft store and always walk out with a new pad of pattern paper. Oh and a rubber stamp! The only paper I haven’t bought lately is cardstock. It does come in wonderful colors but it’s boring.  Not anymore! I found Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock! This paper is so much fun to play with. You can tear, sand it, emboss it, and wrinkle it. The possibilities are endless. It changes the way you make art!

Let me show you what I mean. Here are a few projects I made with Core’dinations Ebony and Ivory Cardstock Collection.  The collection includes their Black Magic, Whitewash and Core Essentials paper.

Here is an 8x8 scrapbook page: Smile.

As you can see on the left side you can tear the paper and see another shade of the same color. The flowers were put in a polka dot embossing folder and then sanded.  The word SMILE I made with my own embossing folder. I cut a manila folder to fit into the Big Shot.  Inside the folder I placed Grungeboard letters (chipboard letters work better but I love Grungeboard), the cardstock on top of the letters, a folded piece of paper towel (don’t have to use it for chipboard), close the folder put it between two plates and place it on the A plate and roll it through.  Then I just sanded the paper.

Here are two Tim Holtz inspired projects. Everyone knows I love his products.  The first is a card: Enjoy the Journey.

You can see I used the Core’dinations paper at the bottom of the card.

Tag: Happy Easter

I tore the paper to make grass and hid a couple of Easter Eggs. The two bunnies are Grungeboard and I painted them with Distress crackle paint in picket fence and used antique linen distress ink on top. The background papers for both these projects were from his paper stash called Seasonal.

Can you see all the fun I had with this paper!  Now it's your turn to try it. Take a look at all their product on the Core'dinations website!

String Art Flower Tutorial!

Salutations! Today I'm going to show you a video tutorial on how I make my string art flowers. It's a very simple tutorial and I hope it helps you get started.  I also have a tag and card to show you.

String Art Flower Tutorial:

One point I did not say in the video is knowing where to stop. If you put a dot on the back of the flower where you started you can continue to go around the flower clockwise and when you get to the dot you know thats where you end.  I sort of stumbled on my words so I hope I made sense with my instructions.

Here is a wedding card I made for my daughter. She's going to her first wedding and needed a card. The wedding colors are black, white and purple. The stamp I used is called Stick Love by Wordsworth by Rubber Soul.  It's one big stamp but I cut it into three to do something different.

Next, I made a tag. I have a creatively kit from HOTP called Creative Words and you can use them to make a album.  I've kept it to use all the quotes in it. I thought the quotes would be perfect for cards, tag, scapbook pages, etc.

That's it for now. I hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks for stopping by.
