Sunset - Art Journal Every Day

For Julie's Art Journal Every Day I had a journal page that I used to clean up some spray inks and it was perfect for the photograph I wanted to use.  I just added another CW template and some distress inks to the background. I love the page. As you can see by the date the picture was taken in May of last year. This was looking out from the condo we rented in Chicago for my daughter's college graduation.  I added some scraps of paper to add a little collage feeling to it. I love the way it came out.

Treasure Every Day

Today I have a tag to show you.  I have been slowly using all my scraps, bits and pieces. I end up throwing some of it away because I end up with so much that I don't have a space for it all.

The background was made with leftover ink on a CW template. I believe the tea cups are a Unity stamp, the butterflies were already punched and the green ruffle on the left is the paper that gets wrapped around fresh flowers. Its a little thicker than tissue paper and its easier to use.

Replenish your soul

I have so many tags that I have used to mop up inks and paints that I decided to pull a few out. This tag had lots of green so I decided to just go with a add a little more.

This was all made from paints I had on my desk plus bits and pieces of paper. The quote is from a book of quotes from Paper Wishes.

Ugly Pages

I don't like these pages. I think its the colors. My mojo had left and I was trying to get it back. It didn't work with these pages. I may go back and do something else with them but I'm not sure yet.

The one great thing about these pages are they are front and back so I can just trash one page!  Maybe the pages will grow on me after a while.  Some of the colors were already there so I just kept with the color scheme.

Art Journal Every Day

Sorry I haven't been around lately. You all know that when you are in your art room too much so many other things don't get done.  Well, that's what I've been doing playing catch up with the house, laundry, etc.  Boring stuff.

Today I have an art journal page for Julie Balzer's Art Journal Every Day. I've been playing with distress inks and water.  This page is probably not finished yet. I decided to walk away and go back to it. It needs a background of sorts but I haven't decided what to do yet.

I decided to try my hand at drawing weird flowers. The quote my niece told me about and I love it. Not sure if I like the page yet. I think once its finished my perspective will change. Well that's it for now.

Its the simple things

Today I have a collage of sorts to show it. It's made on 5x7 watercolor paper. It was a piece I had left over from another project.  I decided to use what was on my desk plus add a few doodles to make a simple collage.

I really like the look of a collage but I didn't want to add too much paper to this one. It's very simple but I love the colors. It would look really nice in a black frame.

Something wicked!

With the beautiful weather I'm spending more time outside and my mojo has been taking a break too. Inside of sitting in my art room I have been out with my camera so you may see a post of pictures. Everyone knows I love making Halloween type cards and for some reason they just come easily to me. To get my mojo back I decided to make a tag.

I honestly can't tell you where the paper comes from except for the raven and the lamp. They are from October 31 cricut cartridge.  The background was made with Dylusions spray inks and drops of red acrylic ink.

Playing with paints

It's a beautiful weekend here!  Sunny and 73!!!  I'm in and out of my art room today.  I don't have much to show from it either.  I just have a couple of pages from art journals today.  The second one is old but I don't think I have shown it to you yet.  I'm linking these with Julie's Art Journal Every Day! These pages I just used what was on my desk.  Sort of weird isn't it?

BE TRUE

Lately my art journals are calling my name. It's amazing how my mojo comes back when I'm playing in them.  On one of my journals pages I was playing with all kinds of dry wall tape and decided to try it on a 6"x12" canvas panel.  I used lots of acrylic paints, stamps, Gelotos, Crafters Workshop Templates and modeling paste.

Art Journal Every Day

For Julie's At Journal Every Day I used my newest journal to make this page. This journal is an old leather bound photo album I found at a tag sale. All the pages were blank and the paper is fantastic for paints.  I used acrylic paints for the background and the papers are all scraps.

PLAY TIME WITH WATERCOLORS

I love watercolors and so far I have only used them in my art journals. This art journal page I played with the way the watercolor moved on the paper when more water was added. I love the blue and orange together and I found the heart in my stash that was perfect for the page.

Lately my mojo has gone a little south but I've been able to just play in my art journals. I started a new one. It's an old leather photo album. The kind where there are tissue paper in between the pages no plastic to cover the pictures. I found this one and another that still have old pictures in it but they were all detroyed. I tried to salvage at least the album but it didn't work out. Oh well back to my art room. Journals are calling!

Recital Weekend!

Hi Everyone! I don't have any art to show you again.  I have three small canvas that I was waiting to dry and now I don't like them.  But this weekend was recital weekend and for my god-daughter's recital I made her a bouquet. I've been making bouquets for her since she started dancing.  This one is her tenth bouquet.

Right now I'm in the middle of cleaning my art room to help jump start my creativity. Every time I clean it up I find so many things I forgot I had. I end up with a list of ideas. This week is going to be a busy one so art time will be a little scarce but I'm going to try to squeeze something in.
