YUPO: Black, White and Red All Over

I'm almost positive that Yupo is my favorite substrate. 

When I take a piece out I can start right away.

No thinking.

Start with black and scrape in some writing.

Add white and some more writing.

More black, writing, and then use a handmade stencil and take off some paint. 

Now add a red, well it's a hue of red.

I just couldn't use a true red, not yet.

And more writing plus used Balzer Bit - Messy Script from The Crafter's Workshop with a baby wipe and take some of the red off.

Finished.

A Do Over. Before and After

Hi Everyone!

One thing you don't know about me.

I repaint finished paintings.

Yes I do.

When I don't like a painting once I finished it, I usually put it aside and leave for a while.

This painting I completed in October 2014.

I don't like it.

I didn't like all the blue. 

At the time, I didn't know what to do next.

Well, I could have just painted the whole thing white but decided to just wait.

To change it, I added some light blue, white and black.

The changes made all the texture pop.

I love it.

My Art Room and New Journal Cover

Hi Everyone!

I'm still in the process of reorganizing my art room.

I'm trying to use August to get it where I feel it's more efficient.

Purging things I don't want and moving things I don't use that often has been eye opening.
I realized my direction in art has changed.

I pulled out those things I don't use as often and took over the dining closet.
I have a little mail room set up in the closet now too.
I can finally find what I need to put art in the mail.

I'm stuck now.
It's a small room and I still feel closed in.
I may have to move the furniture around now.
When I'm done I will post a video.

I finished a journal cover.
I've been into black, white and silver.
Here is a close up of the cover.

This frame, flower buttons and the hummingbird is what started me with the idea for the cover.

I started with creating the background first leaving space for the frame.

This is the completed cover.

I still have to complete the spine and the back cover.

I will just mimic the front cover minus the frame.

I would like to start to teach using stencils so this will be used for my ideas.

I Love Black and White

Hello! Welcome back.

I'm in the process of going through all my pictures and uploading them for safe keeping.

It's such a long process.

Anyway I found a few creations that I have never shared here on the blog.

I will be sharing them with you during the next few days.

First up is a black and white piece.

I love the little angel.

I have many old/vintage photo that I have accumulated over the years.

I have quite a few of these frames.

I bought them for $1 in Joann's.

I used black, white and silver paint plus crackle paste.

I also used glass beads. Here is a close up.

I'm going to try a series of paintings in black and white.

I'm enjoying this combination.
