It's orange, it's a gift and time is running out.

Hi everyone!
While in Chicago I had the opportunity to meet some online art friends, Pam and Sherie.
I was so excited.
We met at a restaurant walking distance from the daughter and we had a marvelous time.
It was like we were friends forever.

I travel with art supplies all the time.
This time I bought tons of 6x6 stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.
I decided to make glad to meet you gifts for Pam and Sherie.

As I worked on this canvas it was just turning more and more orange.
I liked it but it was getting to look too orange, if you know what I mean.
White paint to the rescue!
I covered the canvas in white paint took a paper towel and dabbed some of it off.
Then I took a stencil and a damp paper towel and took off the white paint leaving the stencil design.
It looked like a little stone wall so I added the little bird.

Then with the help of a stencil I added the flowers
Once is was completed I loved it.

I used The Crafter's Workshop stencil called Pebble Art (TCW505s). I use this one all the time.
For the flowers I used Daily Buzz (TCW528s) and added my extra touches.
The little bird came from Fly Away (TCW526s).
Each stencil is in 6x6.
They are the easiest to carry when traveling.

In a separate post I will show you the other gift canvas I made.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Collaged Journal Covers

Hi Everyone!
I decided to put away some projects and work on something small.
I have these journal with white cloth covers.
This one I used a stencil in white paint on the background.
Using papers from my stash I attached them to the front with gel medium.
I believe the butterfly and frame are from Prima but I'm not sure.

That's it for now.
I'm working on a black and white one next.
Stay tuned!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cirlces of Love

Hi. Happy Monday!
After a long weekend full of picnics, I really hate going into work.
I feel like I need an extra day to play in my art room or just catch up on things at home.
Do you feel that way?

Anyway, thought I would share an unfinished canvas I started in Chicago.
I was there visiting my daughter and we had a couple of days full of art.
This one I started the day before I left.
It's not finished to me at all.
I also left it in Chicago so next time I'm there I may finish it.
I'm into circles and white space lately.
I have an idea for a large 20x20 canvas using lots of white space.
This one is 12x12.

That's it for now.
I have lots of ideas for more art so stay tuned.

Using a TCW Stencil to make Clouds

Hi Everyone
Today I have a card to show you.
I created the background with DecoArt Media Crackle Paste, waited for it to dry and then used DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics in Primary Cyan and water.

I used 6x6 The Crafter's Workshop stencil called Alhambra.
The stencil design looks like clouds to me.
Here is a close up of the stencil and crackle paste.
I added a few paper punched clouds to add to the background.

Here is the finished card.

The balloon is a stamp from Stampers Anonymous.
I think it's in a set called The Impossible.
It's old so I'm not sure you can get the set, but I know the balloon is in other sets.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My First Very Textured Piece

Hi Everyone.
I'm trying my hand at very textured pieces of art.

Not sure I like this one.
You may have seen his one on Google+ but I haven't posted it here yet.

I like to post things I've done whether I like them or not.
This one is 10x10 cradled wood.
I used modeling paste and acrylic inks by Liquitex.

It was fun but I think I want to do more layers of colors.
Maybe sand some surfaces...experiment.

Some close ups.
Love the colors but need more layers of colors.

I used a few number stickers.

What do you think?
Something you would like to try?
