Words Are Things.

I love this quote. It's amazing what words can do.
I used distress paint, acrylic ink, dictionary paper, stamps and rub-ons.
I'm linking this to Julie's Art Journal Every Day.

Mojo Monday #295

I haven't made cards in a while but I received my new stamps from Red Lead Paperworks and I had to use them. In order to get myself back in the swing of things I decided to use the sketch challenge on Mojo Monday - The Blog.  You should check out every one's cards that are linked for this challenge. They are all gorgeous.

Here is the sketch #295:

Here is my card:

I love it when I make someone a card they keep it. I decided for those who enjoy my cards I'm going to make them more like a postcard and add an easel to the back so they can display the card.

Here is a picture of the back.

This card is 5x5 so there is plenty of room to write or stamp a sentiment. I've kept many cards in the past but I've ripped off the front to keep so this was a perfect solution for me.

Murmur

This was going to be so many different things. I was really stuck at one point until I found the butterflies and used my new stencil with spray gesso. Lots of layers on this piece. I created this on mixed media paper and cut it to 8"x10".

Here is a close up of all the layers.

Vintage dictionary paper, paint, spray gesso, archival inks, stamps, and stencils. I'm thinking of making a companion piece and have them both framed.

Thats it for now. I'm hoping to have more for you next week after a long weekend.

Words, Words, Words

No new art today. I was busy this past week and have projects in process but nothing near completion.  I thought this quote would be a good one for a Monday. There was a train accident on Friday and the trains are not running this week. I will have to leave my house before 6am all week to drive to Norwalk and drop my husband off there for the train. The good thing is that I work only 5 minutes from the train station. The worse part is those who took the train are now having to drive to work.  If I left at my normal time it would take me over 3 hours to get to work because of all the extra traffic. This is not going to be a very challenging week.

Have a great day!
